They currently have a 1-star rating with one review. They listed a website, but it’s inactive.
The domain was registered yesterday, Monday, February 16, 2026. They don’t have any hosting set up. This is a TOS violation and should trigger a suspension.
I called them yesterday to find out who they are. A woman answered with “Garage Door Repair.” When I pressed her for the company name, she said, “A1 Garage Door Repair.” This is not the name of the GBP. They are either lying about who they are or running a lead-generation business.
Normally, when you search Google for a city and a service, you get map pack results. Instead, a search for “Aptos Garage Door Repair” generates the Knowledge Panel (KP) for “Aptos Best Garage Door Repair”. This fraudulent business not only prevents the map pack from appearing but also hinders consumers and other businesses.
How did this business get verified by Google? Google has moved businesses over to a video verification process. Some spammers have discovered how to fool Google and bypass the verification process. Was that done here? If they did fake the video verification, this is Google’s fault for not catching it.
The question remains to be seen how long this business listing will remain live on Google.
