Scott Smith from The 101 Diner has Online Meltdown

Scott Smith Facebook Comment 14

Scott Smith stirred up a shitstorm on Facebook. A customer posted about a situation on Mother’s Day in a Facebook group. The kicker is, it’s not even Scott’s restaurant. It’s the restaurant next to his, which he attempted to defend. While it’s one thing to defend a business, Scott’s comments went too far and added more fuel to the fire.

At least one of Scott’s comments was removed. I don’t know whether he removed it or the admins did. Let’s let his comments speak for themselves.

“you aren’t telling the whole truth are you? Truth will come out soon…i imagine you will say your wife has Tourette’s and then should be legally protected /allowed to scream at the top of her lungs “Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!“ over and over because her son was asked to quiet down his yelling. You race-grifters are going next level !”

“you have two followers. youre an splc planted bot”

“Tovah Rachel is a bot”

“bot”

“you’re just triggered because I called out your race grifting scam”

“you joined today. bot farm out of china”

“newsome planted bot”

“just trying to defend my friends at Qero from a psychotic lying about his experience to generate social media buzz. My bad. His son was out of control and his wife went absolute batshit ballistic crazy when they were asked to de-escalate their son. Facts matter.”

“pretty sure you are outraged every. damn. day.”

“you joined the group today. Iranian bot”

“you have two followers. You are an Iranian bot”

“joined today. bot farm”

“sorry. American bot? Cuban bot?”

“Armenian bot?”

“of course , but then wine and the adderall take effect…”

“with her two followers joining today. Sure”

” bet it’s something every day with you”

“your a bot!”

Tovah Rachel is a bot”

“You grifters all have the same playbook…on Gavin‘s payroll I see”

“didn’t delete that because it’s lit AF!”

“I don’t think my comments are ableist, but then I don’t think men can have babies so what do I know.”

“you have two followers. chinese bot! LOL”

“race grifting bot planted by the chinese”

“You all let two chinese bots get you all worked up…lol.”

“you sure get feisty when no one has tried to shoot the President in at least a week…may want to up the Xanax!!”

These are just his comments on the Facebook post. His replies to the reviews are worse.

“I was defending the Peruvian restaurant next door who was attacked for asking a unrelentingly loud child’s parents to move outside. Sue me retards! Sorry, I meant fecking idiots! Don’t want to be hateful.”

“I was defending the Peruvian restaurant next door who was cursed at for asking an unrelentingly loud child’s parents to move outside.
Sue me retards!
Better business bureau. Double retard! Congrats”

101 Diner Yelp Review Reply BBB

“That’s libelous. And retarded.”

His comments remind me of Amy’s Baking Company. Amy’s Baking Company was on an episode of Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares on May 10th, 2013. The business went viral after it was shown that the owner takes the waitstaff’s tips. Somebody started posting attacking comments on Facebook. The owners claimed they were hacked, but the damage was done. Time will tell whether The 101 Diner can bounce back and whether this will blow over. Scott hasn’t commented on the Facebook post since yesterday. Somebody affiliated with the business replied to a Yelp review posted around 3:00 AM PST with, “That’s libelous. And retarded.”

101 Diner Yelp Review Replies

There are some questionable replies to older Google reviews.
“You need to take a breath Claudia. It’s going to be ok. Try somewhere else to score a free meal.”

“Yeah I don’t think so. Fake news.”

“lol. Lib-wrangler”

I don’t know if anybody has attempted to reply to the recent reviews. Google is now reviewing and moderating review replies. If somebody replied to a review calling the reviewer “retarded,” Google would reject that reply.

This should have been between the family and the original restaurant in question. Sadly, Scott Smith decided to weigh in and make it about himself. While online reviews are not the forum for airing disagreements, social media and blogs are. Jim was right to post about his experience, and if the business owner wishes to weigh in, I advise them not to; they can do that. Scott made a mountain out of a molehill, making matters worse. The Facebook post was shared on Reddit, which is how I saw it.
