The Event Coordinator, Andrea Toliver, for Henderson Castle in Kalamazoo, MI, is being sued for targeting and leaving negative reviews after a guest left a negative Google review. The lawsuit claims that after Mr. Adams left a negative Google review after finding a caterpillar under his broccoli, Andrea looked him up and left negative reviews and filed a BBB complaint. The negative review was left for the H Chophouse restaurant on September 16th, 2025. A person with access to the Google Business Profile (GBP) replied with, “Reviews go both ways. While we value honest feedback, repeated harassment and personal insults are not acceptable. Please stop with this behavior.”
One of the negative reviews closest to the date James left his negative review was posted by a person using the name of Anonymous User. The reviewer questioned the authenticity of the positive reviews. That negative review was posted on September 17th, 2025. This review was posted a day later. James’ negative review was replied to on September 18th, 2025. Peach left another 1-star only rating on October 20, 2025.
Peach left two reviews and two ratings. The two 1-star ratings were left for businesses with the same name. One is the business employed by James. The other has the same name. The two reviews were left for the Henderson Castle and H Chophouse.
Somebody using the name Andrea T. left a negative review with the BBB on September 21st, 2025. A BBB complaint was filed and closed on September 20th, 20225.
The irony that the negative review and complaint accuse James of harassment while harassing James’ employer with negative reviews and complaints is not lost on me. Remember how I mentioned that someone named Peach posted a negative review about James’ employer? Somebody with access to the Henderson Castle has been replying to negative reviews, quoting Google’s TOS.
Some of the other replies to negative reviews are mean and appear to be posted to shame the reviewer into removing the review. One reviewer uploaded a photo that appears to show the business offering to comp a room or dinner in exchange for them removing their negative review.
This violates Google’s TOS, as do Peach’s reviews. Peach is not the only person who has posted questionable reviews. Parris Boehm left reviews for Henderson Castle, h Chophouse, and their other bed and breakfast, Upjohnhouse. They are not the only ones. Josh Toliver left reviews for Henderson Castle and h Chophouse. Luke Toliver left reviews for Henderson Castle, h Chophouse, and Upjohnhouse. Josh and Luke share the same last name as Andrea. amber coles left reviews for Henderson Castle, h Chophouse, and Upjohnhouse. Luke also left a review for Xtreme Landworx. Jackson Smith left reviews for Xtreme Landworx, h Chophouse, and Henderson Castle.
It appears that people affiliated with Henderson Castle, h Chophouse, and Upjohnhouse are engaging in deceptive review practices. I am curious to see how this case unfolds and if more victims will come forward.
