I received an anonymous tip: Mio Nail Spa in Apple Valley was engaging in fake Google reviews. When I examined their Google reviews on November 24th, 2024. I found 81 suspicious reviews. Out of the 81 reviewer profiles, it was the reviewer’s only review they left. 24 of the reviewer’s profiles were set to private. Google removed three of the suspicious reviews. Google removed two other reviews that I didn’t find suspicious. Since November 24th, Mio Nail Spa has received eight Google reviews. Five out of the eight reviews are suspicious. They again only left one review, and the profiles are set to private.
Is Apple Valley Metrosexual, or does Mio Nail Spa cater to lots of men? Seeing so many men leaving reviews for a nail salon is extremely odd. Male-named reviewers left 35 out of the 86 reviews. Reviewer Nick Smith wrote an almost identical review to Candice Brown. Both reviewers only posted one review. Both profiles are set to private.
I believe Mio Nail Spa has been getting fake 5-star Google reviews since September 11th, 2024. Not only is this illegal, but the FTC can redress them $50,000 per fake review, which would be a penalty of $4,300,000, which would force them out of business.
